Minimum Separation Distance

Minimum Separation distance is the minimum distance that must be maintained between two aircraft to ensure safe separation. It is a critical concept in aviation safety and is used to prevent mid-air collisions. The minimum separation distance varies depending on the type of airspace, altitude, and speed of the aircraft. In general, the higher the altitude and speed of the aircraft, the greater the minimum separation distance required. Air traffic controllers are responsible for ensuring that aircraft maintain the minimum separation distance at all times.
