Navigational Beacon

A navigational beacon is a device that emits a signal to aid in navigation. In aviation, navigational beacons are used to help pilots determine their position and track their course. There are several types of navigational beacons, including VOR (Very High Frequency Omnidirectional Range) beacons, NDB (Non-Directional Beacon) beacons, and GPS (Global Positioning System) satellites. VOR beacons transmit a signal that allows pilots to determine their bearing from the beacon, while NDB beacons transmit a signal that allows pilots to determine their distance from the beacon. GPS satellites provide precise location information to aircraft equipped with GPS receivers. Navigational beacons are an important tool for pilots, especially in low visibility conditions.
