Non-Emergency Medical Transport

Non-Emergency Medical transport (NEMT) refers to the transportation of patients who are not in need of emergency medical care but require medical assistance during transport. This type of transport is typically used for patients who are unable to travel by themselves due to medical conditions or disabilities. NEMT can be provided by ground ambulances, wheelchair vans, or other specialized vehicles. The vehicles used for NEMT are equipped with medical equipment and staffed by trained medical personnel who can provide basic life support and other medical assistance during transport. NEMT services are often used for transportation to and from medical appointments, hospitals, nursing homes, and other healthcare facilities.
