Obstructions

In aviation, obstructions refer to any object or structure that may pose a hazard to aircraft operations. These can include natural features such as mountains or trees, as well as man-made structures such as buildings, towers, or cranes. Obstructions can be a significant safety concern for pilots during takeoff, landing, and flight, particularly in low visibility conditions. To mitigate the risk of collisions with obstructions, aviation authorities establish minimum obstacle clearance heights and require the marking and lighting of tall structures. Additionally, pilots are trained to identify and avoid potential obstructions during flight planning and in-flight operations.
