Overspeed
Overspeed is a term used in aviation to describe a situation where an aircraft exceeds its maximum allowable speed. This can occur during takeoff, climb, cruise, descent, or landing phases of flight. Overspeed can cause structural damage to the aircraft, loss of control, and even catastrophic failure. To prevent overspeed, aircraft are equipped with various speed-limiting devices such as airspeed indicators, overspeed warning systems, and automatic speed control systems. Pilots are trained to monitor their airspeed and adjust their flight path accordingly to avoid overspeed. In the event of an overspeed, pilots must take immediate action to reduce speed and prevent further damage to the aircraft.
