Runway Condition Code
Runway Condition Code (RCC) is a system used to describe the condition of a runway in terms of its braking action, which is the ability of an aircraft's wheels to grip the runway surface during landing or takeoff. RCC is based on a scale from 0 to 6, with 0 indicating that the runway is covered in ice and 6 indicating that the runway is dry and has good braking action. RCC is determined by trained personnel who observe the runway and report their findings to pilots and air traffic controllers. RCC is an important factor in determining whether it is safe to land or takeoff on a particular runway.
