Steam Turbine

A steam turbine is a device that converts the thermal energy of pressurized steam into useful mechanical work. In aviation, steam turbines are commonly used in turboprop engines to power the propeller. The steam is generated by burning fuel in a combustion chamber, and the resulting high-pressure steam is directed onto the turbine blades, causing them to rotate and drive the propeller. Steam turbines are also used in some auxiliary power units (APUs) to provide electrical power and compressed air for aircraft systems when the main engines are not running.
