Transportation Security Administration (TSA)

The Transportation security administration (TSA) is a U.S. government agency responsible for ensuring the security of passengers and cargo in the nation's transportation systems. The TSA was created in response to the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks and is responsible for developing and implementing security policies and procedures for all modes of transportation, including aviation, rail, and maritime. The agency is responsible for screening passengers and their luggage, as well as inspecting cargo and ensuring the security of airports and other transportation facilities. The TSA also works closely with other government agencies, such as the Federal aviation administration and the Department of Homeland Security, to ensure the safety and security of the nation's transportation systems.
