An Unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), commonly known as a drone, is an aircraft without a human pilot onboard. UAVs can be remotely controlled or can fly autonomously through software-controlled flight plans. They are used for a variety of purposes, including military reconnaissance and attack missions, scientific research, commercial and agricultural aerial surveillance, and aerial photography. UAVs come in a variety of sizes, from small handheld models to large aircraft that can stay aloft for hours or even days. They are equipped with a range of sensors, including cameras, thermal imaging devices, and radar, and can be used for a wide range of applications in both civilian and military contexts.
