Voltage Spikes

Voltage spikes, also known as power surges, are sudden and brief increases in electrical voltage that can occur in an aircraft's electrical system. These spikes can be caused by lightning strikes, electromagnetic interference, or other electrical disturbances. Voltage spikes can damage or destroy sensitive electronic equipment on board the aircraft, such as avionics, communication systems, and navigation equipment. To protect against voltage spikes, aircraft are equipped with surge protectors and voltage regulators that limit the amount of voltage that can pass through the electrical system. Regular maintenance and inspections of the electrical system can also help prevent damage from voltage spikes.
