Aircraft Leases

In the aviation industry, aircraft leases refer to the leasing of an aircraft by an airline or other aircraft operator from another party. This party could be another airline, a leasing company, or a financial institution. The lease agreement allows the lessee to operate the aircraft without the financial burden of purchasing it outright. There are two main types of aircraft leases: wet lease and dry lease. A wet lease is an arrangement where the lessor provides the aircraft, complete crew, maintenance, and insurance (ACMI), while the lessee covers the hours of operation. The lessee also pays for fuel and airport fees, and any other duties, taxes, etc. A dry lease, on the other hand, is an arrangement where the lessor provides only the aircraft, and the lessee provides everything else, including the crew, maintenance, and insurance. Aircraft leases are a common practice in the aviation industry, allowing airlines to maintain flexibility in their fleet and operations.
