Airport Apron
In aviation, an airport apron is a designated area of an airport where aircraft can be parked, unloaded or loaded, refueled, or boarded. It is also known as a ramp or tarmac. The apron is usually located adjacent to the terminal building and is connected to the runway by taxiways. The size of the apron depends on the size and number of aircraft that the airport can accommodate. The apron is a critical area of the airport as it is where most of the ground handling activities take place, including baggage handling, catering, and maintenance. It is also where passengers board and disembark from the aircraft.
