Angle Of Attack

Angle of Attack (AOA) is the angle between the chord line of an airfoil and the relative wind. It is the angle at which the wing is meeting the oncoming air. AOA is a critical parameter in determining the aerodynamic performance of an aircraft. It affects the lift, drag, and stall characteristics of the wing. Pilots use AOA indicators to maintain the optimum AOA for a given flight condition. High AOA can cause the wing to stall, which can result in a loss of control. Low AOA can cause the aircraft to lose lift and altitude. AOA is an essential concept in aviation and is used in the design, testing, and operation of aircraft.
