Class G

Class G airspace is the portion of the airspace that has not been designated as Class A, B, C, D, or E airspace. It is uncontrolled airspace, meaning that air traffic control does not provide separation services. Pilots are responsible for seeing and avoiding other aircraft. Class g airspace extends from the surface to either the base of the overlying Class e airspace or 14,500 feet MSL, whichever is lower. In some cases, Class g airspace may extend up to 18,000 feet MSL. Class g airspace is commonly found in rural areas and is often used by general aviation pilots for recreational flying.
