Connecting Rod

In aviation, a connecting rod is a component of the piston engine that connects the piston to the crankshaft. It converts the reciprocating motion of the piston into rotary motion of the crankshaft. The connecting rod is subjected to high stresses and must be made of strong and lightweight materials such as steel, titanium, or aluminum. It is a critical component of the engine and must be designed and manufactured to precise specifications to ensure reliable and efficient operation. Connecting rods are typically lubricated with oil to reduce friction and wear. Failure of a connecting rod can result in catastrophic engine failure and loss of power.
