Pitch
Pitch is the rotation of an aircraft around its lateral axis, which runs from wingtip to wingtip. It is controlled by the elevators, which are attached to the trailing edge of the horizontal stabilizer. When the elevators are deflected upward, the nose of the aircraft pitches up, and when they are deflected downward, the nose pitches down. Pitch is used to control the altitude of the aircraft, and is also used in conjunction with roll to turn the aircraft.
