Roll

Roll is one of the three axes of aircraft movement, the other two being pitch and yaw. It refers to the rotation of an aircraft around its longitudinal axis, which runs from the nose to the tail. The roll motion is controlled by the ailerons, which are located on the trailing edge of the wings. When the pilot moves the control column to the left or right, the ailerons move in opposite directions, causing the aircraft to roll left or right. The roll angle is the angle between the aircraft's longitudinal axis and the horizon. Roll is an important aspect of aircraft control and stability, and is used in maneuvers such as banking, turning, and leveling off.
