Cosmic Rays

Cosmic rays are high-energy radiation particles that originate from outer space and constantly bombard the Earth's atmosphere. They are composed of protons, electrons, and atomic nuclei that travel at nearly the speed of light. Cosmic rays can pose a threat to aviation as they can interfere with electronic equipment on board and also pose a health risk to crew and passengers. Pilots and crew members who fly at high altitudes are exposed to higher levels of cosmic radiation due to the thinner atmosphere at higher altitudes.
