Depression

In aviation, depression refers to an area of low atmospheric pressure that is usually associated with poor weather conditions. Depressions are formed when a mass of warm air meets a mass of cold air, causing the warm air to rise and the cold air to sink. This creates a low-pressure system that can cause strong winds, turbulence, and precipitation. Pilots must be aware of depressions and their associated weather patterns in order to plan safe and efficient flights. They can use weather reports and forecasts to track the movement of depressions and adjust their flight plans accordingly.
