Emergency Frequency
Emergency Frequency is a designated radio frequency used for emergency communications in aviation. It is a universal frequency that is monitored by air traffic control, pilots, and other aviation personnel in case of an emergency. The emergency frequency is used to communicate distress signals, urgent messages, and other emergency information. In the United States, the emergency frequency is 121.5 MHz for civilian aircraft and 243.0 MHz for military aircraft. However, due to the limitations of the 121.5 MHz frequency, it is being phased out and replaced by the 406 MHz frequency, which is more reliable and accurate in locating distress signals.
