The European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) is an agency of the European Union (EU) with responsibility for civil aviation safety. It carries out certification, regulation, and standardization, and also performs investigation and monitoring functions to ensure the highest safety standards are met in the European aviation industry. EASA works closely with national aviation authorities and industry stakeholders to develop and implement safety regulations and standards that are consistent across all EU member states. Its mission is to promote the highest common standards of safety and environmental protection in civil aviation in Europe and worldwide.
