Feet Per Minute

Feet per minute (FPM) is a unit of measurement used in aviation to express the rate of climb or descent of an aircraft. It represents the vertical speed at which an aircraft is ascending or descending, and is typically measured by an altimeter. A climb rate of 500 FPM means that the aircraft is gaining altitude at a rate of 500 feet per minute. Similarly, a descent rate of 1000 FPM means that the aircraft is losing altitude at a rate of 1000 feet per minute. FPM is an important parameter for pilots to monitor during takeoff, landing, and in-flight operations to ensure safe and efficient flight.
