Rate Of Climb

Rate of Climb (ROC) is the vertical speed at which an aircraft is able to climb. It is usually measured in feet per minute (fpm) or meters per second (m/s). The rate of climb is an important performance parameter for aircraft, as it determines the time required to reach a certain altitude. The rate of climb is affected by various factors such as aircraft weight, engine power, air density, and temperature. A high rate of climb is desirable for military aircraft, as it allows them to quickly gain altitude and evade enemy fire. Commercial aviation also benefits from a high rate of climb, as it reduces the time required to reach cruising altitude and saves fuel.
