Fixed-wing Aircraft
Fixed-wing aircraft are airplanes that use wings to generate lift and are designed to be able to sustain flight through the forward motion of the aircraft. The wings of a fixed-wing aircraft are rigid and do not move, except for flaps that can be extended or retracted to change the lift and drag characteristics of the wing. Fixed-wing aircraft are used for a variety of purposes, including commercial aviation, military operations, and general aviation. They are typically powered by jet engines or propellers and can range in size from small single-engine planes to large commercial airliners.
