Flaps
Flaps are high-lift devices on the trailing edge of the wings of an aircraft that increase the lift and reduce the stall speed of the aircraft during takeoff and landing. They are typically extended during takeoff and landing phases of flight to increase the wing surface area and change the camber of the wing, which allows the aircraft to fly at a lower speed without stalling. Flaps can be extended to different positions depending on the aircraft type, weight, and speed. There are several types of flaps, including plain flaps, split flaps, Fowler flaps, and slotted flaps, each with their own advantages and disadvantages.
