Ground-based Navigation Aid

Ground-based Navigation Aid refers to any system or device installed on the ground that provides navigational guidance to aircraft in flight. These aids include radio beacons, radar systems, and visual aids such as lights and markers. Ground-based Navigation Aids are used to supplement onboard navigation systems and provide pilots with additional information to help them navigate safely and accurately, especially during takeoff, landing, and low visibility conditions. These aids are maintained and operated by air traffic control agencies and are an essential component of the air traffic management system.
