Ground Power Unit

A Ground power unit (GPU) is a mobile unit that supplies electrical power to aircraft parked on the ground, allowing them to operate their avionics and other systems without using their own engines. GPUs are typically used when aircraft are parked for extended periods of time, such as during maintenance or while waiting for passengers to board. They can also be used to start an aircraft's engines in the absence of an onboard auxiliary power unit (APU) or when the APU is not functioning. GPUs come in various sizes and power outputs, and can be powered by diesel, gasoline, or electricity.
