Jamming
Jamming is the deliberate radiation or re-radiation of electromagnetic energy on the same frequency band in order to interfere with the normal reception of signals. In aviation, jamming can be used as a form of electronic warfare to disrupt or disable communication and navigation systems, such as GPS or radar, on an aircraft. This can be done by using high-powered transmitters to overwhelm the weaker signals from the aircraft, or by using directional antennas to focus the jamming energy on a specific target. Jamming can pose a serious threat to aviation safety, as it can cause loss of situational awareness and navigation errors.
