Long Flare
Long Flare is a technique used during landing where the pilot extends the flare duration to reduce the vertical speed of the aircraft just before touchdown. This technique is used when the aircraft is landing on a runway with a high approach angle or when the aircraft is heavy. During a long flare, the pilot gradually reduces the aircraft's rate of descent by increasing the pitch attitude, which increases the angle of attack and generates more lift. The pilot maintains this attitude until the aircraft reaches the runway, reducing the vertical speed and allowing for a smoother touchdown.
