Precision Approach Systems

Precision Approach systems are a set of navigational aids and procedures that provide highly accurate guidance to an aircraft on final approach to a runway. These systems include Instrument Landing System (ILS), Microwave Landing System (MLS), and Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) approaches. ILS is the most commonly used precision approach system, which provides both lateral and vertical guidance to the aircraft using radio signals. MLS is a newer system that uses microwave signals to provide similar guidance. GNSS approaches use satellite signals to provide lateral and vertical guidance. These systems are essential for safe and efficient landing operations, especially in adverse weather conditions.
