Spiral Dive

A spiral dive is an unintentional and dangerous maneuver in which an aircraft enters a descending corkscrew path around its vertical axis. It occurs when one wing is more stalled than the other, causing the aircraft to roll and yaw simultaneously. The aircraft loses altitude rapidly and can reach high speeds, making recovery difficult. Spiral dives can be caused by various factors, including pilot error, turbulence, and structural damage. Recovery from a spiral dive requires the pilot to reduce power, level the wings, and pull up to regain altitude. Failure to recover from a spiral dive can result in a loss of control and a potential crash.
