Static Port
A static port is a small opening on the surface of an aircraft that is used to measure the static pressure of the surrounding air. This pressure measurement is used in various aircraft systems, such as the altimeter, airspeed indicator, and vertical speed indicator. The static port is designed to be flush with the surface of the aircraft to minimize air disturbance and ensure accurate pressure readings. It is typically located on the side of the fuselage or wing, away from any sources of turbulence or airflow disruption.
