Windsock

A windsock is a conical textile tube that is open at both ends and attached to a pole to indicate wind direction and relative speed. Windsocks are commonly used at airports to provide pilots with a visual indication of wind direction and speed. The windsock is typically made of a lightweight, durable material such as nylon or polyester, and is designed to be highly visible in a range of weather conditions. The windsock is mounted on a pole that is typically between 8 and 15 feet tall, and is positioned in an open area away from any obstructions that could interfere with wind flow. The windsock is an important tool for pilots during takeoff and landing, as wind direction and speed can have a significant impact on aircraft performance.
