Air Density
Air density refers to the mass of air molecules present in a given volume of air. In aviation, air density plays a crucial role in determining the performance of an aircraft. As air density decreases, the engine power output decreases, and the lift generated by the wings decreases. This is because the air molecules are more spread out, resulting in less air being available for the engine to burn and less air passing over the wings to generate lift. Pilots must take air density into account when calculating takeoff and landing distances, as well as when flying at high altitudes where the air is less dense.
