Density
In aviation, density refers to the density altitude which is the altitude relative to the standard atmosphere conditions at which the air density would be equal to the indicated air density at the place of observation. It is a critical factor in aircraft performance as it affects the lift produced by the wings, the power output of the engine, and the propeller efficiency. High density altitude, which occurs in hot and high altitude airports, reduces aircraft performance and can lead to longer takeoff and landing distances, reduced climb rates, and decreased engine power. Pilots must take into account the density altitude when calculating aircraft performance and making decisions during flight.
