Cabin Depressurization
Cabin depressurization is a situation in which the pressure inside the cabin of an aircraft decreases rapidly. This can occur due to a variety of reasons such as a malfunctioning air conditioning system, a structural failure, or a breach in the aircraft's hull. When cabin depressurization occurs, the oxygen masks drop down from the overhead compartments, and passengers and crew must put them on to avoid hypoxia, a condition caused by lack of oxygen. The aircraft must then descend to a lower altitude where the air pressure is higher, and it is safe for passengers and crew to breathe without the use of oxygen masks.
