Celestial Object

In aviation, a celestial object refers to any natural object in the sky that can be used for navigation purposes. These objects include the sun, moon, stars, and planets. Before the advent of modern navigation technology, celestial navigation was the primary method used by pilots to determine their position and navigate their aircraft. By using a sextant to measure the angle between a celestial object and the horizon, pilots could calculate their latitude and longitude. Today, celestial navigation is still taught to pilots as a backup method in case of equipment failure or other emergencies.
