Standard Atmosphere is a model that describes how the Earth's atmospheric pressure, temperature, density, and viscosity change with altitude. The Standard Atmosphere assumes a constant acceleration due to gravity, a dry atmosphere, and a specific set of atmospheric conditions at sea level, including a temperature of 15 degrees Celsius, a pressure of 1013.25 hectopascals, and a density of 1.225 kilograms per cubic meter. The model provides a baseline for comparison with actual atmospheric conditions, allowing pilots and engineers to make more accurate calculations and predictions.
