Wingtip Devices
Wingtip devices are aerodynamic structures attached to the tip of aircraft wings to improve their efficiency. They work by reducing the drag that is created at the wingtip, which in turn reduces the amount of fuel that the aircraft needs to fly. The most common types of wingtip devices are winglets and sharklets, which are upturned extensions at the end of the wing, and raked wingtips, which are wingtips that curve upwards. Wingtip devices have become increasingly popular in commercial aviation due to their ability to reduce fuel consumption and carbon emissions.
