Adverse yaw

Adverse yaw is an inherent tendency of an airplane to yaw in the opposite direction of a roll. This is caused by the difference in drag between the wings as they are deflected in a roll. The wing with the increased angle of attack and lift also produces more induced drag, causing the airplane to yaw in the opposite direction. Adverse yaw can be minimized through the use of ailerons with differential drag or through the use of other control surfaces such as spoilers or winglets.
