Anemometer

An anemometer is a device used to measure the speed and direction of wind. In aviation, anemometers are commonly used to measure the airspeed of an aircraft. The most common type of anemometer used in aviation is the pitot-static system, which measures the difference between the pressure of the air entering the pitot tube (which faces into the wind) and the pressure of the air in the static port (which is perpendicular to the wind). This difference in pressure is used to calculate the airspeed of the aircraft. Anemometers are important for pilots to know the airspeed of their aircraft, which is necessary for safe and efficient flight.
