Barometric Altitude

Barometric altitude is the altitude of an aircraft above a standard datum plane, which is calculated based on the atmospheric pressure measurement by the aircraft's altimeter. The altimeter measures the atmospheric pressure and compares it to the standard pressure at sea level. The difference between the two pressures is used to determine the altitude of the aircraft.
