Cabin Pressure
Cabin pressure refers to the atmospheric pressure inside the cabin of an aircraft. The cabin pressure is controlled by the aircraft's environmental control system to maintain a comfortable and safe environment for passengers and crew at high altitudes. As an aircraft climbs to higher altitudes, the outside air pressure decreases, which can cause discomfort, ear pain, and even medical issues for passengers and crew. To prevent this, the cabin pressure is maintained at a level equivalent to the air pressure at lower altitudes. The typical cabin altitude for commercial aircraft is around 6,000-8,000 feet, even when flying at cruising altitudes of 30,000-40,000 feet.
