Flameout

Flameout is a sudden extinction of the flame in the combustion chamber of a gas turbine engine, which can be caused by a variety of factors such as fuel starvation, compressor stall, or foreign object damage. When a flameout occurs, the engine loses power and thrust, and the pilot must take immediate action to restart the engine or execute a safe landing. Flameout can be particularly dangerous during takeoff and landing, when the aircraft is at low altitude and low speed. To prevent flameout, gas turbine engines are equipped with various safety systems such as fuel control systems, ignition systems, and surge control systems.
