Flap

In aviation, a flap is a high-lift device that is mounted on the trailing edge of an aircraft wing. Flaps are used to increase the lift of an aircraft at a given airspeed, which allows the aircraft to fly at a slower speed without stalling. Flaps are typically deployed during takeoff and landing, when the aircraft needs to fly at a lower speed and a higher angle of attack. There are several types of flaps, including plain flaps, split flaps, and Fowler flaps, each with their own unique characteristics and advantages. The angle of the flap can be adjusted to control the amount of lift generated, and pilots must be trained to use flaps effectively to ensure safe and efficient flight.
