Frost
Frost is the formation of thin ice crystals on a surface that are at a temperature below the freezing point of water. In aviation, frost can form on the wings, fuselage, and control surfaces of an aircraft when the surface temperature is below the dew point and there is moisture in the air. Frost can cause a significant reduction in lift and increase in drag, which can affect the performance of the aircraft during takeoff and landing. Therefore, it is crucial to remove all frost from the aircraft before flight to ensure safe operations.
