Safety Areas

Safety areas are the designated areas surrounding the runway that are free of obstacles and other hazards. These areas are designed to provide additional safety margins in case an aircraft undershoots, overruns, or veers off the runway during takeoff or landing. Safety areas are typically made of materials that can support the weight of an aircraft and are maintained to ensure that they remain free of debris and other hazards. The size and dimensions of safety areas are determined by the type of aircraft using the runway and the speed at which they are traveling.
