Vertical Takeoff
Vertical takeoff is a type of takeoff in which an aircraft rises vertically into the air, without the need for a runway. This is achieved through the use of engines that provide enough thrust to lift the aircraft off the ground and keep it airborne. Vertical takeoff is commonly used by helicopters, tiltrotor aircraft, and some military fighter jets. It allows aircraft to take off and land in areas where there is limited space or no runway available, making it a valuable capability for military and emergency response operations. However, vertical takeoff requires a significant amount of fuel and can be noisy and disruptive to nearby communities.
